This is it - our chance to show our strength and our commitment to Broomfield. Come and take part. It starts with a parade that originates near the Community Center on Lamar, and ends at City Park on Midway. Several candiates have committed to march with the Broomfield Democratic contingent and you are invited as well. The parade starts forming at 9:30 a.m. and starts moving at 10:00. Like last year, we can be one of the largest groups showing our pride by marching. Once in City Park grab a bite at one of the concessions and come over and find our booth. Fun for all. Put on your walking shoes and join in.

Thirteen wonderful people from the Broomfield Dems spent their evening on August 5th as volunteers staffing a pledge-drive phone bank for KBDI Channel 12 PBS. During each break in the program it was the volunteers from our Party who answered the phones and took the pledges - pledges totaling almost $28,000.00 for PBS! One of several contributions made to the community by our Party each year, this one was organized by our own Tammie Baker. More about this event, including those who gave of their time, in the upcoming The Broomfield Democrat due out via e-mail September 1st.

THE PICNIC AT INTERLOCKEN WAS SPECIAL |

By rough estimate 70 adults, 20 children, and 11 dogs spent an enjoyable, August 17th, Sunday afternoon eating and socializing and playing at the Broomfield Democratic Party picnic. Organized by one of our two Events Coordinators – Pam Gianola, and with a supporting cast of many, the picnic came off as a grand event. “The best ever”, were comments made by several in attendance. Chef Jim Holitza proved to be the gas grill master of charcoal. There were great home made side dishes as well as deli food – all of it good. There were kids activities. The dogs were friendly. The adults played well together. For a more complete coverage of this festive event see the upcoming newsletter, The Broomfield Democrat, due out via e-mail 9/1/08.
